The Region of Murcia (Mar Menor)
Only a few places in this world have the exclusivity to have an own salt water lake directly at the sea side. The Mar Menor sea, europes biggest tub has an expanse of about 170 km2.This favourite sea wich has a tremendous history and tradition lies 80 km south of Alicante in the province of Murcia. A salt water lagoon of 20 km length and 10 km width is separated from the Meditarranean sea by a small hook. This one is called „La Manga“.
The Mar Menor region is an ideal place for relaxation. All, individuals parents with children or elderly people enjoy the unique pleasure at the mild and calm coast side with a tipical smooth breeze.
To play golf in the middle of palms at the sea side, to learn about different water sport types, to dive in the depth of the fascinating grounds of Calrbadina and the island "Isla del Traile", or the "Islas Hormigas". Horse riding over beautiful mountains, fishing, bike-journeys to the unique salines „Salinas de San Pedro“, the „Sierra Espuña“ or to „Calblanque“. River rafting in stormy waters or padelling in the calm sea fo the Mar Menor sea.
